Dr. Dean Sexsmith

General Dentist

Dr. Dean Sexsmith has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan, he worked in the Canadian Forces a number of years before beginning a career in the private sector.

He opened Westlake Dental in 2004 and has been serving the community of Lloydminster ever since.

Dr. Sexsmith has been trained in implant placement and laser dentistry. He has completed his MSc in Laser Dentistry through the University of Aachen, Germany.
Dr. Ting Li

General Dentist

Dr. Ting Li (Anne) is a dedicated and driven Dentist from Edmonton, Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Alberta (2021) and recently graduated with honours in Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University College Cork, Ireland (2025) where she found her passion for traveling and new cuisine. With a strong foundation in both scientific research and clinical practice, Anne brings a well-rounded and international perspective to dentistry. She spent two years in Songyuan, China, shadowing in implantology, wisdom tooth extractions, and maxillofacial surgeries. During this time, she gained valuable exposure to complex procedures and developed a deep appreciation for the close-knit, small-town connection between patients and their dental care providers—a sense of community that inspired her decision to pursue work in Lloydminster. Earlier in her academic journey, she worked as a summer research student in Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta in 2020, further strengthening her diagnostic acumen.

Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Anne is passionate about providing high-quality, accessible care to diverse patient communities. Her academic excellence has been recognized through multiple awards, including the Dean's Honor Roll, the NACTRC Summer Student Award, the Jason Lang Scholarship, the University of Alberta Undergraduate Scholarship, and the Faculty of Science Academic Excellence Award.

In her downtime you might find her playing badminton, Pilates, swimming, cooking or participating within the community. Driven, compassionate, and globally trained, Anne is committed to advancing oral health and continuing her growth in the ever-evolving field of dentistry. She is excited to join our team and offer her services to our amazing community.
